Sensory launched TrulySecure 2.0, an updated version of its speaker verification and face recognition solution for mobile, tablets and PCs that enables multimodal biometric authentication.

Insurance and banking provider USAA is rolling out biometric authentication on its mobile app and the financial services company says face and voice recognition capability should be available nationwide to all of its 10.6 million customers in the coming weeks.

USAA is enabling customers to enroll biometrics so they can use either facial recognition or voice to access account information on mobile devices.

Tangerine is enabling banking customer to use the fingerprint scanner on iPhones as an additional factor of authentication to access their accounts on the mobile devices and will introduce voice biometrics later this year.

The FIDO Alliance standards initiative was a key topic at the Cloud Identity Summit (CIS) and the alliance conducted an interoperability session where members demonstrated how their FIDO Ready solutions could work together.

Nuance announced that Banco Santander México deployed the voice biometrics solution to replace PINs, passwords, and security questions. Santander launched Nuance’s VocalPassword solution so that customers who call in to the bank’s phone system can simply speak to be authenticated, making the banking-by-phone process easier and more secure.

FaceBanx is using a combination of facial and voice biometrics to enable easy login to web sites. Simply look into a web cam, repeat a few random digits and you can be logged into a site or authorized to make a transaction.
