Phil Dumas went on ABC’s Shark Tank to get funding for Unikey, his company that focuses on the user experience with mobile physical access control. Unikey has been focused on the residential market but is starting to expand into the commercial arena.

The Identity, Credentialing and Access Management (ICAM) Laboratory will be open soon for students at Capitol Technology University in Laurel, Md. The lab is in its final stages of construction and curriculum development.

The latest installation brings the total number of Iris ID devices at CERN to 80, and all have been upgraded to the latest generation.

Advanced Optical Solutions Inc. is out to change the way fingerprint biometrics are captured with that it’s calling “zero-touch fingerprints.” The company now has an FBI-certified system that enables authentication by waving a hand through a small door.

Registered traveler programs are booming as airlines welcome record numbers of passengers. CLEAR, one of the programs that started it all a decade ago, is back and now operating in 13 U.S. airports and three Major League Baseball stadiums.
