Transit Windsor is planning to implement a contactless fare collection system for the upcoming fall, according to the Windsor Star.
New contactless readers will be installed in all buses operating in the city, allowing riders to pay via photo ID smart card.
According to Penny Williams, general manager for Transit Windsor, the new passes will provide riders with more options, including family passes, day passes, weekly passes and so on.
Tony Houad, director of corporate services, says the cards may one day offer other services, including access to the public library and other city amenities.
