Speaking at 5th annual Islamic Banking exhibition in Tehran, Watchdata announced that it will work with Padisar Informatics to deliver and promote NFC mobile banking solutions in Iran.
For the first time, exhibition attendees were privy to a demonstration of NFC technology via Watchdata’s range of payment and mobile banking solutions, including the SIM card-based payment solution SIMpass, as well as the company’s SDpass and SIMpartner.
Held from Sept. 5 – 6, the annual Islamic Banking exhibition attracted the participation of more than 21 local companies and 10 foreign companies in the banking and payments industry.
According to a release from Watchdata, many of the attendees, including key decision makers from the local banking industry, were “impressed and excited” about prospect of NFC.
The partners have yet to reveal any definitive dates or plans, but Watchdata says they expect NFC mobile banking to be “widely adopted” amongst Iran’s cell phone users.
