To help accelerate the introduction of new payment solutions around the world and continue migration from cash to electronic payments, Visa has launched its new Visa Ready Partner Program.
The program is geared toward companies such as mobile device manufacturers, technology partners and mobile network operators to help them understand the complexities of payments and to have access to Visa IP, licenses and best practices.
This will ensure that future solutions will be compatible with Visa’s requirements, no matter where in the world the product is deployed. Partners will have access to a collaboration framework and access to the Visa network.
Visa also intends for this program to be an easy way for financial institutions and merchants to adopt new payment methods that will function within Visa’s guidelines.
The program will rely on existing payments industry standards for approval and certification. It will conduct testing through labs that are certified by EMVCo and teh Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council.
To start, the Ready Partner Program is working on a program for mobile NFC-enabled device approval and a program for mobile POS acceptance.
