category: Contactless, NFC
VeriFone introduced the VX 680 terminal to Spanish merchants, enabling full contactless and NFC acceptance – designed to bring new levels of convenience to their customers. The announcement coincides with contactless trials and initiatives from card issuers and banks to drive consumer adoption of ‘wave and pay’ in Spanish cities.
Spanish merchants will be able to take advantage of market incentives to upgrade their POS with the latest contactless devices and deliver faster, more user-friendly payment services to their customers. With their high volume of sub-20 Euro transactions, the VX 680 is particularly well suited for hospitality retailers such as bars, restaurants and entertainment venues.
The full function, portable handheld payment device is PCI PTS 3.0 compliant. In addition to accepting EMV debit, credit and contactless payments, the VX 680 features a full color display, touch screen interactivity and extended memory to deliver value-added applications such as loyalty, coupons, advertising and up sells.
With multiple connectivity options – Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPRS – and an illuminated, blue backlit keypad, the VX 680 is spill and drop resistant for performance in demanding environments.
