Vanderbilt swipes campus cards for taxi fare
Vanderbilt University’s Student Government unveiled a new taxi payment system that enables students to swipe their Commodore Cards to pay for cab rides.
The new program arose from a partnership between the Vanderbilt Student Government, the Commodore Card office and Taxi USA. Approximately 200 taxis will be equipped with Commodore Card readers to allow students to pay their cab fare.
This summer students will have access to 20 cabs outfitted with the new system to test its effectiveness before the official launch in the fall.
