The United States Customs and Border Protection’s US-VISIT has assisted in apprehending a fraudster, according to a KY Post article. The apprehension and arrest of the international traveler utilizing forged documents occurred at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport.
The US-VISIT program operates by matching one’s biometric information with their travel documents ensuring that the person traveling is who the claim to be as well as an enrollee’s documents not be misused for someone else to enter the U.S. In this specific case, 29-year-old Mali citizen Moussa Doucoure was caught with his biometric sample not matching the ones his travel documents were enrolled with. Doucoure has since been sentenced to two years in a federal prison where, upon his release, he will be deported.
