U.S. Bank enters a new partnership with the California Community Colleges Commission on Athletics
U.S. Bank has entered an agreement with the California Community Colleges Commission on Athletics (COA) to become the official financial services company of the COA and presenting sponsor of COA state championships. The agreement is indicative of U.S. Bank’s growth in California and commitment to reach out into the community through sponsorship and corporate support.
The California Community Colleges comprises 109 college campuses and nearly three million students. This banking program was established to meet the basic service needs of the campus community members and will be phased-in starting with 25 colleges in the fall of 2005. Students, faculty and staff are immediately eligible for the entire range of banking services offered by U.S. Bank. Each campus selected will be within a short commute of a U.S. Bank branch and ATMs.
“Our commitment to U.S. Bank is absolutely unlimited as we launch the partnership, said Stu Van Horn, associate state commissioner of the COA. “COA board presidents will be involved with colleges in their conference that are part of each phase to ensure institutional support for the partnering program.”
“U.S. Bank is recognized as the leader in campus banking programs and we are excited to reach out to the member community colleges to bring our best in-class products and services to each campus,” said Jim Marshall, senior vice president and head of the U.S. Bank Campusbanking Program. “The COA is a natural fit for us because we share their commitment to improving the lives of students by supporting their academic and athletic pursuits in COA communities where the U.S. Bank is also located.”
There are more than 300 U.S. Bank branches throughout California, a number that continues to increase, with business centers in San Diego, Orange County, Los Angeles, Sacramento, San Francisco and numerous communities throughout the state. U.S. Bank moved its southern California regional headquarters to Los Angeles as its logo was added to the skyline atop the former Library Tower, now U.S. Bank Tower, the tallest building west of the Mississippi.
