UPM Raflatac’s New CD/DVD Product Features Integrated RFID Tag
UPM Raflatac, CDA, Brooks Automation and Stora Enso Digital Solutions have launched a new CD/DVD solution featuring an integrated RFID tag.
Discs from CDA come with a uniquely identifiable UPM Raflatac HF RFID tag, while Brooks manufactures RFID readers and integrates them into end-users’ processes. Stora Enso Digital Solutions offers digitally printed and personalized DBS Discbox Slider CD/DVD boxes made 100 percent from cardboard.
The solution enables new applications in anti-counterfeiting and inventory management, and it is already in use as a ticketing solution. Event organizers and sports clubs, for example, are now able to distribute media content on the RFID/DVD ticket itself. End-users will benefit from this innovation by receiving information about cross-selling initiatives, bonus music tracks, games, movies and trailers from sponsors, to name only a few possibilities.
