The University of New Mexico is moving forward with a transition to align new technology and services with a redesign of the campus’ Lobo Card.
Coined the “Lobo Re-Card Initiative,” starting in summer 2010, the University’s card office will begin printing the new cards, which will feature a new format and updated encoding on the mag stripe.
In the previous design, the Lobo Cards did not include students’ UNM ID number, which campus officials say is a key for students to handle business on campus.
Students already use their Lobo Cards to enter the University’s Johnson gym and to print documents.
