The University of Delaware is working together with Motorola Solutions Inc. and Radiant RFID to track and secure more than $25 million in artwork using the Virtual Asset Tracker solution from Radiant.
As part of this solution, Motorola’s XR series of fixed RFID readers have been installed at key areas within the University of Delaware’s Old College Gallery and RFID tags affixed to pieces of art. When movement is detected security cameras are activated, thereby enabling video coverage of any and all incidents.
Radiant RFID’s Virtual Asset Tracker enables organizations to track assets in a wide variety of environments. Utilizing RFID technology from Motorola, Radiant’s Virtual Asset Tracker allows the monitoring of various types of assets and helps safeguard these tagged assets.
The University of Delaware plans to also deploy the solution in other areas around campus for increased asset tracking and security.
