The University of Colorado at Boulder has chosen VASCO to protect its newly installed supercomputer on campus. VASCO which produces the IDENTIKEY server and DIGIPASS GO 6, are used in tandem to prevent intrusions to the supercomputer, and maintain security on the network.
The university realized that access control for its supercomputer, which is accessed by both the university and other organizations including the National Center for Atmospheric Research, was a necessity. In addition, the university had business needs that demanded a solution that would service multiple strong authentication needs – specifically support for its campus VPN.
After an evaluation, the university determined it needed a security solution that would authenticate using its new DIGIPASS tokens.
In addition the security solution needed to offer an authentication back-end to other existing authentication systems in use by these partner organizations. To meet the authentication and back-end system requirements the school selected a combination of VASCO’s IDENTIKEY server and DIGIPASS GO 6.
