UCLA to host hands on RFID workshop

In response to the growing use of RFID in a variety of new industries, faculty and researchers at the UCLA-WINMEC RFID Lab will host a hands on RFID workshop on October 20, 2009. The workshop is meant to help companies interested in using RFID better understand the technology and its applications.
Workshop participants will attend lectures about RFID’s real world applications and see live demonstrations of the newest RFID applications. Industrially relevant RFID case studies and their results will also be presented.
Demonstration topics include tracking items through a supply chain, checking in/out at libraries, personnel credential verification, and more.
Lecture topics will include RFID hardware and middleware, RFID standards and mandates, and RFID industry vertical case studies and business case analysis.
Space is limited and interested parties are asked to fill out an online application on UCLA’s website in order to be considered.
