ThingMagic improves cancer patient experience
ThingMagic announced that its Astra RFID Readers have been deployed at the Roy and Patricia Disney Family Cancer Center in Burbank, Calif. The Astra readers are included as part of a RFID solution designed to reduce patient anxiety and improve the workflow between clinicians, patients and administrators.
The Disney Family Cancer Center administration will employ ultra-high frequency readers for various applications, one of which will read patient ID badges to activate custom hospital room settings like music, lighting and temperature.
Other applications range from the relaying of location information from passive RFID badges to centralized applications that retrieve patient information in order to enhance the patient experience.
Location data is also sent to staff’s phone displays, allowing clinicians to locate and tend to patients quickly.
