Telenor and DnB NOR’s have announced a partnership to test mobile payments at a dozen retail locations in Oslo, Norway.
This summer customers at Kaffebrenneriet, Vita and Deli de Luca retail chains will be able to make MasterCard PayPass-enabled contactless payments with just a tap of their mobile phone.
Customers participating in the test are required to use a Samsung mobile phone with built-in NFC technology and an adapted SIM card from Giesecke & Devrient. Other partners include payments solutions providers Teller and Nets.
According to Telenor, the pilot is part of an “NFC City” user-driven research project being partly financed by the research council of Norway.
