TagMaster automates train identification in Chinese workshops
TagMaster, a producer of RFID solutions for railway applications, has been chosen by Beijing Tielonghengtong Vehicle Equipment Co., Ltd. (BTVE) in China to provide RFID systems for automating the identification of high-speed trains in maintenance workshops across China.
In their contract with BTVE, RICHOR will provide the RFID equipment from TagMaster, as well as technical services in relation to the initial installations and integration. BTVE has ordered the first 150 RFID readers, and more than 300 readers will follow for the initial installation program.
The newly built workshops are maintaining a fleet of high-speed electric multiple unit passenger trains and the RFID system enables the automatic identification of each unit within the workshop area.
The first maintenance workshop is being installed and the remaining locations are expected to be completed during 2010. BTVE expects the RFID system to be extended to additional maintenance workshops over the coming years.
