T-Mobile, aka Deutsche Telekom, is planning to deliver NFC payments to Germany and Poland by the end of the year, says to Intomobile.com.
T-Mobile is most likely going to choose the NFC-enabled Samsung Wave 578 to deploy in the two markets, which are currently under-equipped in terms of NFC supporting handsets, according to Intomobile.
The operator has also signed agreements with local banks in the Netherlands and the Czech Republic for a possible deployment of m-payments next year.
In addition, T-Mobile has announced a partnership with Vodafone and O2 to offer M-Pesa, an SMS-based mobile payments service popular in Africa.
