Stanley signs contract with U.S. Army

Stanley Inc., a technology firm partnered with biometrics developer Lumidigm, has agreed to a contract valued at $1.7 million for support of the United States Army mobile biometrics devices, according to a Washington Technology article. The work performed by Stanley and Lumidigm is for the Language and Technology Office at the U.S. Army Intelligence Center to create a multi-spectral fingerprint reader and software development kit for use with mobile devices.
As multi-spectral technology enables data collected from the surface and beneath the surface of a fingerprint, it was a necessary technology to be included for the mobile devices to properly function in adverse environmental conditions.
