Dundee, Scotland-based sQuidcard, which provides contactless e-money services in retail and campus networks, has launched its service at the University of Bolton in England. The card provides contactless e-money services for campus and retail locations and has been specifically designed to deliver cashless solutions to delis and bistros on the university campus.
“We recognize that sQuid’s e-money solution is a great proposition for our students and staff,” said Patrick O’Reilly, IT director and project sponsor at the university. “Not only can they top up their own cards with cash and spend here on campus but they also benefit from being able to pay with sQuid at numerous locations across the town. It also helps students to budget and keep track of their spending, and it’s safer than cash too.”
sQuid and the university expect to extend the use of sQuid to other areas of student life, such as parking, photocopying, library and leisure facilities.
