The SPYRUS Cryptographic Operating System (SPYCOS) hardware security product has been granted FIPS 140-2 Level 3 Certificate.
The National Institute of Standards and Technology awarded the mobile data production company with FIPS 140-2 level 3 validation making it the first fully Suite B amenable cryptographic device in the industry.
The SPYCOS module features an embeddable HSM-on-a-chip and is meant for environments requiring high security SPYCOS including computers, cell phones, PDAs, routers, point of sale terminals, set top boxes and industrial control devices. Additional features include Suite B cryptographic algorithms (AES, SHA-2, ECC), Advanced RSA and Elliptic Curve Cryptography PKI functionality and tamper detection. The tamper detection will erase the encryption if it senses any signs of the device being meddled with. The compact size and low power requirements make it desirable for both custom and more mass produced products.
The SPYCOS hardware security module is available as an ISO 7816 smart card module with a standard interface or as a micro-sized surface mount Integrated Circuit called the Rosetta Micro.
