Sony launches NFC-enabled TransferJet

Sony has launched its new TransferJet, a technology that uses near field communication technology to transfer data between electronic devices, according to PC World.
This means that to transfer pictures from a digital camera to a computer, TransferJet users need only place the camera on the TransferJet pad, and he pictures are uploaded automatically. TransferJet has a range of 3 cm and transfers data at a speed comparable to USB.
The first device to support this technology, Sony’s VAIO F laptop, was launched in Japan on Jan. 23.
International launch is scheduled for February.
