New Zealand contactless payments provider Snapper announced a new way for customers to get their Snapper payment accounts onto their Touch2Pay smart phones.
New Zealanders with Touch2Pay phones equipped with the Touch2Pay SIM card can now get a Snapper contactless payment account on their mobile phone securely over-the-air, instead of being issued at the time the SIM is produced. With just a couple of clicks on the Snapper Mobile app, the user can activate his or her Snapper account to make tap and go NFC payments on public transit or in retail locations.
In the past, a Snapper card would need to be produced in a secure publishing bureau and then shipped to where a customer can buy it. According to Snapper, this is a physical process that takes time and effort, and results in a card that a customer needs to pay for. Now customer can instantly add Snapper to their Touch2Pay compatible smart phone using a free application.
The latest version of the Snapper Mobile app is available for download now at Google Play and is compatible with all 2degrees Touch2Pay smart phones using a Touch2Pay compatible SIM, including the new Samsung Galaxy S III.
