SmartCentric, ViVOtech add contactless point of sale to SmartCity

ViVOtech, a producer of contactless payment readers, will be supplying point of sale devices to SmartCentric’s SmartCity products, allowing the company’s existing customers, among them colleges and universities, to maintain their investment in their POS infrastructure.
Dublin, Ireland and West Palm Beach, Florida–SmartCentric Technologies International Ltd (SmartCentric), the leading provider of smart card systems, has partnered with ViVOtech to offer contactless Point of Sale devices on the popular SmartCity product. ViVOtech is the market leader for contactless payment readers for existing and new Point of Sale terminals, allowing cardholders to use quick and convenient contactless card technology for purchases and loyalty.
The smart card market is rapidly moving towards the use of contactless cards for purchases that are currently use cash. The SmartCityr system has provided contact card systems to its 5 million issued card base worldwide since 1996, and since 2005 has been offering contactless to its customers.
