Smart cards confirm attendance
The Medical Council of India recently approved a proposal that will require all medical colleges and institutes in India to have faculty identification, tracking and monitoring systems, according to a PHARMABIZ.com report.
The Medical Council of India notes that this initiative comes as a means to ensure the regular attendance of faculty at each of its medical colleges.
Under the new system each faculty member will be issued a smart card, whereas readers will be installed to require each faculty to check in, and confirm attendance.
Mumbai-based Rasilant Technologies has been appointed as the vendor for the medical colleges, providing the necessary services to support the initiative, including software, controller and biometric card readers.
An official from the council has already written to Rasilant Technologies, health secretaries of all the States, director of medical education of all the States and registrar of all the universities in this regard.
