Siemens has expanded its Simatic Ident portfolio for industrial identification by adding the Simatic RF200 RFID system. This new system comprises three compact readers, all with IP67 protection: Simatic RF210R, RF220R and RF260R.
The readers of the Simatic RF200 system are suitable for assembly and handling systems, or for small assembly lines for the identification of work piece carriers. Applications also include production logistics and intralogistics for tasks such as material flow control or the identification of containers.
Further applications include materials handling with electric monorail systems, automatic guided vehicles, or palletizing systems where the transponders are secured on products or pallets.
The readers can be used with all previously available ISO 15693 transponders from Siemens. The two compact readers RF210R and RF220R are designed for short ranges of up to 20 mm and 30 mm, and the RF260R reader can be used for ranges up to 130 mm.
The Simatic RF200 system can be integrated into automation systems such as Simatic or Simotion using predefined S7 function blocks FC45/FB45 and a comprehensive range of communication modules for Profibus, Profinet or also Ethernet TCP/IP and further bus systems.
