Sequent’s new mobile wallet management platform for Android effectively enables authorized mobile apps to use any card stored on the phone’s secure element (SE), transforming apps into wallets.
The Sequent Wallet Management Platform is available for phones with secure element technology running Android 4.0 or later. The platform tracks which wallets are authorized to use each credential in the secure element, while simultaneously safeguarding the secure element from use by unauthorized apps.
Sequent’s solution is also mindful of card branding and maintains each card’s tailored look and feel consistently across various apps. This allows card issuers to retain brand identity within their own wallet, as well as supporting their branded credentials for use in partners’ wallets.
The Sequent Wallet Management Platform enables simultaneous card accessibility from any available wallet and the card issuer’s dedicated app, permitting the consumer to use that card within any of the approved apps or wallets.
Sequent’s solution looks to break down the barrier that many mobile wallet users are faced with— the choice of which and how many wallets to put on their phone. Sequent believes that mobile wallet adoption stands to benefit from providing end users with the luxury of choice.
