Saskatchewan government offers rebates to livestock farmers who use RFID

The Saskatchewan Government has launched a $5 million rebate program that will reimburse Saskatchewan livestock farmers up to 70 per cent of costs should they use to implement RFID tracking solutions.
The program is available to cattle, bison, sheep, goat, hog and cervid producers, as well as veterinary clinics, meat processors, assembly yards, privately managed community pastures, fairs and exhibitions.
The program is voluntary for the time being, but is expected to become mandatory in the near future as as livestock traceability moves forward.
