Sarnoff Company, a developer of biometric solutions, has been tapped by Global Animal Management (GAM), a company that assists with animal identification, storage, analysis and processing, to develop a portable equine iris capture and identification device. The system will be the first ever device utilizing irises for authentication and tracking of horses.
To create the system, Sarnoff has used its Iris on the Move technology to be able to identify horses via a low visibility infrared light from a distance and while they are moving.
