DHL was in need of securing its European air cargo hub at Leipzig/Halle airport, and recently chose SALTO to get the job done. 350 doors within the facility have been equipped with new SALTO XS4 escutcheons, which are completely compatible with the existing wall readers, enabling DHL staff to continue using their existing ID-cards. The next step is now to integrate the use of the SALTO XS4 product into all DHL offices in Germany.
When DHL needed a simple solution for the complicated task of securing its European air cargo hub at Leipzig/Halle airport, they chose SALTO.
The company ships over 1.5 billion parcels, packets and documents annually, and Leipzig/Halle airport is set to become one of DHL’s biggest air cargo hubs handling express shipments for the whole of Europe.
Since DHL’s office facilities at Leipzig were already equipped with a security system working with contactless HID iCLASS identification technology, the task was to find another system that could seamlessly integrate with it.
Local business partner EVVA and Felgner Sicherheitstechnik have equipped 350 doors with new SALTO XS4 escutcheons, which are completely compatible with the existing wall readers, enabling DHL staff to continue using their existing ID-cards. The next step is now to integrate the use of the SALTO XS4 product into all DHL offices in Germany.
