GAO RFID Asset Tracking announced the handheld RFID reader, model 243004. The rugged unit is an ideal solution for markets such as asset tracking and inventory management, fleet maintenance, in the warehouse or on the hospital floor.
The new mobile reader possesses an enhanced antenna for reliable reading of tags in virtually any orientation such as can be found in supply chain applications. Also, the mobile device features “Software Defined Radio” (SDR) architecture, permitting support for future tags and protocols via a software upgrade while maintain existing hardware.
The GAO mobile computer operates under the Microsoft Windows CE .NET 4.2 OS running on an Intel XScale processor and supports most ISO 14443A, ISO 14443B, and ISO 15693 standard tags.
It is fully customizable including options for case color, protective bumpers, keypad, logo tag, serial tag, and cables. Furthermore, the reader is provides a Compact Flash (CF) slot supporting a wide variety of CF-enabled peripheral devices.
