Visibility solutions provider RFID Global Solutions, Inc. (RFIDGS), has announced it has joined the Dakota Defense Alliance (DDA), an organization of small and medium-sized manufacturers based in the Dakotas. RFIDGS will provide RFID solutions and expertise to the member companies.
The DDA, which consists mainly of defense contractors and suppliers for Boeing, was founded to expand defense industry opportunities in the Dakotas, and to increase collaboration between member firms on such issues as RFID usage in the defense supply chain. The group also serves as a liaison to policy makers, working as a lobbying force to ensure the promotion of policies beneficial to the region and its share of the defense industry.
In a statement, RFIDGS CEO Diana Hage said membership in the DDA would provide her firm with an opportunity to help develop the Dakotas region as a hub for RFID solutions deployment, along with other supply chain technologies. In addition to providing RFID systems to member companies, RFIDGS plans to establish an RFID training program at the community college level in the area.
“RFIDGS has significant experience working with the U.S. DOD, service branches, Boeing and other aerospace manufacturing and commercial customers which can be leveraged across our member companies to our mutual benefit,” says Kristen Hedger, executive director of the DDA.
