“Bill Parks and I received the first patent for a passive, read-write RFID tag. In 1969, I was the corporate planning officer to the president and chairman of Communications Satellite Corp. (Comsat). In the spring of 1969, I conceived of the RFID concept to rectify a number of problems with the CARTRAK optical system for rail cars.”
