RFID Global Solution, Ubisense team up

Two specialists in real time locating systems, RFID Global Solution Inc. (RFIDGS) and Ubisense, have announced plans for a partnership to produce applications for the defense and industrial markets. The two firms will combine their respective technologies to offer real-time location solutions offering improvements in process, increased returns on investment and real-time sub-second response in challenging environments using standard networks.
The two companies have similar and complementary customer lists, with RFIDGS providing solutions to the U.S. Department of Defense and several branches of its military service, the Kennedy Space Center, and numerous clients in the aerospace industry. Ubisense also works with the U.S. army and several leaders in the aerospace market, as well as automotive industry clients like BMW and Aston Martin. Representatives from both firms noted in a statement that these shared target markets will make it easier to deploy new solutions using both companies’ expertise.
RFIDGS provides enterprise asset visibility solutions using active and passive RFID, GPS and cellular technologies. In April of this year, the firm introduced Visi-Trac, an enterprise platform which captures data from a wide range of RFID and sensor technologies including Ultra Wide Band, GPS, bar code, and temperature sensors.
Ubisense offers precise Real Time Location Systems, providing enterprise business automation via the tracking people and assets, and enabling visibility and control in a variety of complex business environments. Ubisense has a history of partnering with technology suppliers in specialist fields as well as the outright acquisition of a number of smaller companies.
