UK health service taps Precise Biometrics
Precise Biometrics has won an order for Tactivo from an English National Health Service Foundation Trust. Tactivo will be used for secure mobile access to health care systems and is delivered as part of an integrated solution provided by Precise Biometrics´ partner Isosec Ltd. The order will impact second quarter revenues with $46,000.
The Trust has chosen Tactivo smart card readers to enable secure access to relevant patient data, reporting and information exchange on iPad and iPhone devices. The solution enables care providers to spend more time with patients while ensuring instant access to patient information. This increases care quality and reduces time spent on administration.
The health care system is accessed through two-factor login using a smart card, Tactivo, iPad/iPhone and Isosec’s mobile authentication software.
Intercede, Citrix partner
Intercede announced that it is teaming up with Citrix to offer Intercede’s Citrix Ready MyID technology to XenMobile customers. The MyID platform and XenMobile provide the credentials required to enable the secure signing and encryption of corporate email messages delivered by Citrix WorxMail.
This enables customers to utilize a strong level of security on mobile devices, which was traditionally only possible on a desktop PC with the use of a physical smart card.
Intercede’s MyID platform allows EMM vendors to bolster the security of enterprise applications and offer customers strong authentication solutions. Intercede and Citrix help customers meet government security standards, including FIPS 201-2 and SP800-157, a vital requirement for US Federal customers and those operating in associated industries.
MorphoTrust expanding presence in Texas
The Department of Public Safety’s Fingerprint Applicant Services of Texas program will expand its current network of 93 enrollment facilities to include 55 new locations – specifically in more rural areas – where secure and convenient fingerprint-based background checks will be provided at IdentoGO Centers by MorphoTrust USA. Texas awarded the contract to MorphoTrust, making it the first state to implement the company’s new, state-of-the-art commercial enrollment platform.
Civilian applicants seeking licensure, employment and volunteer opportunities in Texas at agencies including the Board of Nursing, the Department of Family and Protective Services and the Texas Education Agency, among others, can now benefit from increased access as well as the improved performance and capabilities offered by MorphoTrust’s commercial enrollment platform. The platform also allows applicants to easily apply for multiple state programs from a single location.
MorphoTrust’s commercial enrollment platform also formed the basis for the successful delivery of the Universal Enrollment Services for the U.S. Transportation Security Administration.
