UK discount retailer Poundland, in conjunction with Barclaycard and credit card processor Commidea, are scheduled to trial contactless payments at two of its London stores.
“The contactless payment trial will enable us to offer alternative payment options and improved service levels, so that customers can purchase their goods quickly and conveniently,” said a Poundland spokesperson.
The pilot will allow purchases of less than $17 to be made without customers needing to enter a PIN code.
