PortalGuard’s Authentication Platform now offers five ways to provide layered authentication for webmail and the Outlook Web App (OWA).
Users can choose from a variety of two-factor authentication methods at login, which enhances the OWA simple password authentication process. These include transparent one-time passwords (OTPs) and a transparent tokenless toolbar browser plugin that creates time-based OTPs on regular intervals and encrypts that value with public key cryptography.
Only the PortalGuard server can decrypt and read the OTP. The browser plugin then completes a two-factor authentication process on a machine that passes a set of risk-based criteria.
The PortalGuard authentication platform software costs $7,500 per installation and has a 90 day money back guarantee. PortalGuard also offers trials of its platform through its website.
