Authentication platform provider PortalGuard and secure login technology provider Yubico have partnered for a two-factor authentication product.
PortalGuard has added Yubico’s YubiKey, a driverless USB token, to add a OTP to the login process for its clients. The two-factor authentication functions during login and password resets to prevent unauthorized access to both cloud-based and on-premise web applications.
PortalGuard works with a tokenless method, using a mobile OTP and a Tokenless Transparent Toolbar that transmits a time-based OTP. The YubiKey adds another layer of authentication to the process.
PortalGuard is targeting smaller organizations with this product as cost-effective way to add stronger authentication. The platform can be customized and is standards-based. It’s scalable and is designed to run out of the box on existing hardware. PortalGuard is offering free trials of the product through its website.
