Phoenix plans to introduce its Personal Health Station & Smart Card System at the American Telemedicine Association conference this week in Tampa, Fla.
The kiosk looks similar to ones seen for years in drug stores, except this one has a bit more technology under the hood. An individual can check blood pressure and weight at the terminal but also transport records to electronic health records and for storage on a patient smart card., according to a SelfServiceWorld.com article. Phoenix has partnered with Medapps to make this technology available to the end user.
Cloud care, owned by Medapps, enables users to take advantage of a smart card to send user data directly to their electronic health record. Health data can be obtained at the kiosk and stored to the card. If you want to go wireless with your biometric info, another app Health Reader, can send and store your information with your records at home.
