Pharos Systems’ print cost management software, in use by colleges and Fortune 500 companies, will soon be incorporated in Lexmark’s integrated multifunction printers, which were specifically designed to run integrated solutions like that offered by Pharos.
Rochester, New York–Pharos Systems International has partnered with Lexmark International to incorporate print cost management software solutions directly within Lexmark’s next-generation integrated Multifunction Printers (iMFPs).
Lexmark’s iMFPs were designed to efficiently and intuitively run integrated solutions, such as Pharos Uniprintr, directly from within the Lexmark e-Task interface. Pharos print cost management software is the first such solution integrated and certified to work with the new Lexmark Embedded Solutions Framework. Lexmark integrated the Pharos technology within its software, which makes job accounting, departmental chargeback, security, flexibility, and print job control readily accessible to users. By leveraging the innovative technology within Lexmark multifunction printers, including the Lexmark X644e, X646dte, X850e, X852e, and the X854e, Uniprint’s robust features are available directly inside the Lexmark Embedded Solutions Framework and create a fully customizable and completely scalable solution designed to address the varied needs of both office and higher education customers.
Colleges, universities, and Fortune 50 companies throughout the world select Pharos Systems print cost management software solutions as their first choice for maximizing the cost recovery opportunities that emerge through proper management of print and copy assets. The Pharos Systems iMFP solution places powerful software solutions directly inside the iMFPs. Following easy ID or proximity card authentication, users can immediately take advantage of these applications via Lexmark’s eight-inch (20 cm) easy-to-view, full-color, high-resolution touchscreen user interface. The Lexmark display is also highly flexible, and can adjust to both avoid glare, and to meet the needs of users of different heights.
By enabling users to charge back print and copy costs to a department, grant, government contract, or to a personal account, the Pharos iMFP solution makes access to a wide range of printing and copying services easier than ever before. Pharos Systems designed the PrintHereT feature to cater to the growing needs of laptop users. PrintHereT allows users to print a job and then pick it up at the iMFP that’s most convenient for them, regardless of where they’re located.
To ensure document confidentiality, Pharos designed the Secure Print Release feature, so that documents are only printed from the iMFP when the user who printed them is present to pick up the jobs. With built-in print release capability and ID card devices that save IT staff time, money, and effort in setup, configuration, and maintenance, the Pharos iMFPs offer the ultimate in convenience and flexibility.
Tom Cody, Director of Business Development, Pharos Systems International, says, “Lexmark’s next generation of iMFPs combined with our cutting-edge print cost management software deliver a completely unique device to the marketplace. The Lexmark-Pharos partnership has produced a device that represents the highest standards of cost control, convenience, and confidentiality, and the iMFP’s flexibility and customizability make it very attractive for organizations of all sizes.”
