Animetrics has joined forces with forces with security and surveillance specialist View Systems Inc. to provide a new level of security screening.
Animetrics’ 3D facial recognition technology will be incorporated into View Systems’ concealed weapons detection program for use in correctional facilities and public infrastructures like stadiums, courthouses and schools.
The new 3D facial recognition technology will enable a less intrusive biometric mode of screening. When used in conjunction with View Systems’ existing concealed weapons system, security personnel will be able to identify both immediate and potential threats in real time.
View Systems’ current concealed weapons detector (CWD) is a walk-through portal sensitive enough to detect a razor blade while ignoring non threats like coins, cell phones and belt buckles.
The plan initially is to incorporate Animetrics’ 3D facial recognition software, but plans are afoot to incorporate the company’s cloud-based FaceR Identity Management System (FIMS cloud) and its accompanying suite of FaceR facial biometric identity and screening applications. The additional security features will be installed throughout the entire View Systems security portfolio.
