Omni-ID lands new round of funding

Omni-ID, a recent startup specializing in passive UHF RFID technology, has announced an additional $15 million in funding. The firm says it will use the cash infusion to expand marketing and sales efforts, increase its manufacturing capacity, and work to penetrate the Asian market.
The funding came on the basis of a strong performance in 2008 for Omni-ID, which has a corporate presence in both Silicon Valley and the United Kingdom. The company offers a range of RFID products and applications, with some specialization in applications for tracking IT assets and data center management. In 2008, 2008, Omni-ID expanded its executive team, added to its existing product line, and launched the Omni-ID Service Bureau.
The financing was obtained in the U.K., from previous Omni-ID backer Cody Gate Ventures G.P. Limited.
