Oklahoma restricts use of driver’s license data

An Oklahoma State Senate panel has passed a bill restricting the biometric data collected for the issuing of driver’s licenses so that no entity, including the federal government, will have access to it, according to a KFSM Fayetteville, Arizona article. One of the fears cited is that of the information on state residents becoming available to foreign governments if it should become part of the federal databases. The bill is next to be reviewed by the full Senate Appropriations Committee for consideration.
