RFID solutions provider ODIN Technologies has been awarded a comprehensive government-wide purchasing vehicle contract by the U.S. Federal Government’s General Services Administration (GSA). The purchasing vehicle, or schedule, authorizes government users to purchase RFID solutions and services which best suit their needs.
The GSA acts as a screening agency for government procurement, reviewing applications for potential government suppliers and determining which ones offer the best value to government purchasers. The GSA then establishes long-term contracts with vendors for everything from computers and office supplies to security services and supply chain solutions. The schedules the GSA establishes allow federal government entities to order the approved supplies and services at volume discount rates. Technically, ODIN received a Multiple Award Contract Schedule on the GSA’s 81 IB, Packing & Packaging Supplies and Services.
The founder of ODIN technologies, Patrick J. Sweeney II, said in a statement that the GSA contract will enable ODIN to extend its contracts with federal agencies beyond its current list of government partners, which includes the Department of Defense, Customs, and Border Protection
