The Nigeria Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC) plans to create a biometric database of the hotel workers throughout the country in an effort to cut down on hotel-related crimes, reports AllAfrica.com.
The centralized database would be able to track staffing changes from hotel to hotel. Those who commit crimes would be identified in the system so that hotel managers and owners could learn more about potential hires.
The NTDC also hopes the database will be able to help those in the hotel industry solve problems that deal with corruption and other harmful practices, particularly as the NTDC tries to help the country’s hotels get a reputation for being safe.
