Nigeria adopting smart cards to ’empower education’

Nigeria is issuing contactless smart cards to students, parents and administrative staff in the hope of empowering educational institutions in the country, according to squicard.com.
The cards, created by SugarAnt Technologies and Idenizen Smartware, are currently being used at more than 100 educational institutions across India. Nigeria saw it’s first cards deployed in July with steady expansion entering the new year.
The cards contain standard ID information and feature E-Money for electronic payment of services on campus.
