New Zealand hotel installs contactless locks

Heritage Rotorua Hotel in New Zealand has replaced its metal room keys with a contactless Kaba Electronic Locking System. The Kaba system also allows the hotel to send “unique locking codes” to mobile phones for guests to access their rooms, according to the hotel’s general manager.
The new locking system is part of a major upgrade the hotel is undergoing.
