New webinar explores mobile identity apps in health, banking and transit industries

A recent webinar hosted by the Secure Technology Alliance Identity Council focused on use cases for a mobile identity credential in health care, banking and transit industries.
A patient identity case study showcases an interoperable Unique Health Safety Identifier secured with multi-factor authentication using a credit card, biometric, or mobile device as the token
The three industries have unique identity issues that mobile devices can help to solve from both usability and security perspectives. Speakers include: Jeffrey Fountaine, Ingenico Group; Judy Keator, SecureKey Technologies; Jerry Kane, Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA); Tom Lockwood, NextgenID, Inc.; and Randy Vanderhoof, Secure Technology Alliance.
On the health care front, Ingenico’s Fountaine overviews a patient identity case study that involves technology from LifeMed ID to create an interoperable Unique Health Safety Identifier secured with multi-factor authentication using a credit card, biometric, or mobile device as the token.
SecureKey’s Keator overviews the project in Canada that sees citizens logging in for government services using their bank issued credentials.
On the transportation front, SEPTA’s Kane describes a future scenario where the same NFC or mobile ticketing solution could extend to other authentication transactions both within the transit system and beyond.
