Utah-based FotoPunch has developed technology that can turn a cell phone into a time clock for use in corporate time management functions, such as attendance, employee location and employee identity.

FotoPunch Connect, Mobile Time and Attendance enables phones to become geolocated biometric time clocks. The system works on many types of mobile phones. Its technology is able to integrate FotoPunch data collection technology into existing time and attendance or workforce management applications without relying on extensive specialized hardware.

Employees take a photo with their mobile and that aong with the geolocation feature on smart phones enables them to clock into work. FotoPunch launched at the American Payroll Association 30th Annual Congress in Orlando, Fla.
