Identive Group Inc. has launched a smart card reader to authenticate Apple mobile devices. The reader enables iPad, iPhone and Apple computer users to authenticate themselves to secure networks, web sites and payment systems with smart chip-based IDs or credit cards.
The iAuthenticate reader is aimed for use by the U.S. government and worldwide enterprise markets. It enables these organizations to employ Bring Your Own Device policies for their networked users. The system can authenticate CAC and PIV credentials, and it includes the PKard for iOS CAC/PIV web/e-mail app from Thursby Software Systems.
The reader complies with applicable federal standards including TAA, FIPS 140-2 and FIPS 201. Identive has applied for inclusion on the U.S. General Services Administration’s Approved Product List.
The reader is available for pre-order for November delivery through Identive or its authorized resellers.
